Washington Elementary School Reviews

I have had 3 children graduate fromthis school Most of the teachers are open and more than willing to teach. I find that Mr Boyd is ineffectual in the running of this school. The parents that complain usually are the parents that are not there or do not participate. It is hard for teachers to maintain control with parents thinking their children are not a problem. Parents do not provide materials for the students. Teachers make sure students have clothes for important events pics and help those that do not or cannot get. They are the unsung heroes. Their pay does not come close to the calling they undertake. I commend the dedicated workers at this school Instead of complaining I suggest parents become invloved and support the teachers and workers at the school. Education needs to be wanted not forced Everyone needs to participate for success

washington school is not a good school. some teachers are smart and teach very well.but most teacher are bad at teaching. my child been going to washington for 1 years, and i dislike it already.if you want your child to learn do no go to this school. it need alot of improvement.

I don't believe the PTA is conducted as it should be. The PTA meetings, as they are conducted now, seem to be a meeting that should be held with the board of Ed. There are hardly any parents involved and there are no teachers attending these meetings. The purpose of Parent/Teacher Associations are for them both to attend. Since the testing scores are so low, there should be meetings held with all the parents, so they can be told they need to be involved in the education of their children from home also. I believe it should be mandated by the principal that all teachers attend these meetings and parents should have to attend at least 4 (if they are held year-round). My children attended this school only one year and I do not intend to send them back for a 2nd.
