They only have a few advanced classes and that's not enough for some students. None of the classes challenge your mind. I found some of their extracurricular activities pointless while the usefull ones are not available. Much of the classroom time is spent is translating English to Spanish for the Hispanic students. The rest of the students get bored and waste time on their ipods or talking amongst themselves. Gym class so far is just standing around or doing word puzzles. Honors classes and just recently AP classes are offered at Hancock to challenge the students. It is just the right size and the teachers and staff really care. Hancock has given my child a chance to get involved in extracurricular activities, as well as out-of-state educational outings. I highly recommend Hancock in providing quality education to students in the southwest side of Chicago.”
