Curie Metropolitan High School Reviews

I am a current student at Curie High School and I Highly recommend the I.B program. The teachers are wonderful. Even though the work may not always be easy, they teachers encourage us and enhance our knowledge on a variety of subjects.

i have been dissapointed by this school it is going down the same lines as other school with behavior problems.

During the time my child attended I found the parent involvement poor when I joined a booster club for a sport team. My son was involved in the performing arts program but the general studies classes lacked discipline. Overall, I was not pleased with the quality of education at this school.

I graduated from Curie in 2002. I feel that this is a great school. It is a great school because the faculty really care about you and your plans after graduation. It is a good environment because it is very diverse. I have had many positive experiences throughout my four years at Curie. If I had a child I would make sure that she attends Curie H.S. The academic programs and extra-curricular are excellent.

I attended Curie H.S. from 1998 to 2002. I really valued my experience there. I was really involved with the marching band while there and I was drum major my junior year. My band teachers were almost as close to me as my own parents! I enjoyed most of my teachers, but I would not recommend the IB program. It is not advanced enough and the teachers weren't very proficient. I felt cheated with my IB experience. Other than that, it is a very diverse environment with good discipline and security. I definitely felt prepared for college.

I went to this school with high expectations, and none were met. I have had so many problems with administrators and teachers, its ridiculous. I am an honors student with a 4.0 GPA, but have been treated like a disorderly teen for reasons that were not fair. Teachers and Staff should not work in a school if they do not like working with kids or do not have the open mindedness that is needed to understand students in this confusing age group. I have experienced racism and discrimination and surprisingly enough it wasn't the students who exposed me to this. It was the authorities. I have had a few good experiences, but they have been very few. This school seriously needs a new outlook on how to treat it's students. I have felt more like a prisoner in this school than I have a human being and that is sad.

This is a great school because we not only learn about math, reading and writing but we have such a variety of cultures here its amazing theres people all over the world. We learn from each other and we respect every bodies culture and the teachers have such energy to teach that the students want to go and learn they make it fun.
