Gunsaulus Elementary Scholastic Academy Reviews

This school does not exemplify the positive attitude it once had. This attitude has trickled down to some of the teachers. My son is a 4th grader and has attended since Kindergarten. He has had more issues at this school this year than when he first started. This newer administration has lowered their standards to accomodate mediocrity! I've certainly been shopping for another school for my child. I second the other parent's recommendation of not sending their child here either.

This is NOT the Gunsaulus Academy that was once known. The new adminsitration have done everything they can to destroy the climate and the academic excellence. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!

I've been at this school since kindergarten and you can't say it's the worst or the best. To me this school is average but I still love being part of it. I have many friends that I've met. I have had hard times but it's worth it because the teachers are nice and and students are I guess all i can say is they are all differnet and unique maybe not all nice but not all mean. Even though there have been hard times I am glad I am a part of this great school.

As a former Walt Disney Magnet school student, I love this school not just because it's a Magnet school, but for the teachers who get involved, I have two childern one 11 the other 6, they both have speech problems and the school has a speech program. This program along with the music, art, and library programs help childern to grow academically. It is a diverse school which is great since the world is made up of different races/cultures. Parents, like myself come from the far southside of Chicago to this outstanding elementary school on the other side of town -West. My childern enjoy being apart of this school and I'm sure their learning experiences will be deeply treasured as they grow up to be adults. Lisa Douglas

My child has been attending Gunsaulus all 9 years. The graduation is this year. This school grew with him. The staff are wonderful and work academically for the child. Truly it has enforced, 'No Child Left Behind'. I have 2 children enrolled to finish and 1 this year starting kindergaten. They will all be there 9 years also. The school is amazing and the reading, math and science strengths are highly implemented. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. They are a family orientated school and provide a full day kindergarten which starts the reading immediately. Overall the ISAC scores for this school are high and you couldn't ask for anything better from a Chicago Public Magnet School than this. The enrichment for the child is amazing.Plus it offers bus transportation to provide a stable education even if you move with guidelines. My children have been blessed with this school since 1990.You'll love it.

Hi I am a parent of a daughter whom attend Gunsaulus Acadamy. This school is a great school. It focuses on academicas and any student who attends there, in my opinion will succeed in life. They have a wonderful and caring staff whom are concerned with the well being of each student. I recommend any parent whom wants their child to have a great educational experience to look into this school becuase it would be the best choice that they can make for their child.
