Drummond Elementary School Reviews

Drummond Montessori is an excellent school, from the principal to the teachers & directors they all put their effort to help our children succeed in their education. I recommend this school for any Chicago resident. Everyone is always involved and wanting to participate in the school functions.I really appreciate everyone and they help with my children and helping feel @ home outside of home!

we need more schools like this the staff are what i call the best my son anthony has the best of booth world a father that loves him and a school that will help me get him to the next level in life i thank you for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great school, great staff. Very good quality Montessori program with a diverse student population. Excellent after-school program. Superb principal. My child has attended since Pre-K and is now in Elementary. He loves it and so do we.

Drummond Montessori School is a home away from home. Both the parents and the teachers are extremely dedicated. We know that this school will continue to grow and expand under its new leadership!

Our family loves Drummond! This small, caring school community has inspired us to get involved in our kids' education in ways we never imagined. Our daughter is thriving in her home-away-from-home, as the Montessori curriculum hits its stride. The teachers are outstanding, the administration is open and friendly, and the community of families is welcoming and supportive of all the kids. We expect great things from Drummond in the coming years, and will definitely stick around to see all the plans come to fruition.

My child attends Drummond and we couldn't be more pleased. He is in Miss Kerber's class and she is a wonderful teacher. All the children listen to her even though she always speaks calmly and softly. It's easy to see that they genuinely respect her.

The Montessori Program is separate from the school and is being phased in 1 grade a year. They are now up to 2nd grade and testing occurs at 3rd in Chicago CPS so there are no numbers to back up what appears to be a great success story. The Montessori program seems well done with class sizes a bit on the large size. Parents and students seem to be doing well.

Drummond is a school of excellence and teaches my child the importance of being a success in all he does. I have never experienced so much genuine care on behalf of the teachers and their overall administrative staff. The quality of academic programs at Drummond far exceeds any other we have experienced and also enables my son to have clear understanding. This is very important. The teachers make learning interesting and fun. My son also knows that his teachers are not only there to teach, but they genuinely care about his academic development. There are great music and art classes that allow the children to use their creative gifts and expand on them. I would recommend Drummond to all who want to continually reach higher levels in education. Drummond has far exceeded all my expectations as a parent that wants her son to be a great success in all he does.

I just moved to the neighborhood and have been extremely impressed by the level of local and parent commitment to this school. I can't wait to see what the next few years bring.

It is a pleasure and privilege to send my two children to this school under the careful and loving guidance of Mr. Mark Neidlinger, the Montessori director/coordinator at the school. My children are extremely happy and challenged at the school. They always look forward to attending. Parents are very involved and constantly coming up with creative fundraising ideas, or lending moral and political support as needed. Teachers are incredibly dedicated, and it is typical that you see many staff and teachers at the school before and long after the formal school hours. The culture of the school is very professional and committed. My minor complaint is that the Montessori teachers are not accredited for some reason, and after-school program which is brand new could use some tweaking to provide more enrichment to school day, as well as fun to hold kids' interest.

This is a fabulous school. The principal is outstanding.

I think drummond is an amazing school. Its small so kids get individual attention and its full of devoted teachers.

This school has initiated a Montessori magnet program following the awarding of a federal grant. Three classrooms for three- to five-year-olds are underway this year (2004-05), with future expansion of the program to higher grades planned. It is a excellent place for parents committed to the Montessori methods/philosophy of educating their children.

I had a ton of contact with Drummond several years ago, when I worked as a caseworker for two foster children enrolled in the school. I was consistently impressed with the school. Everyone--the teachers, principal, assistant principal, security guard, social workers, nurses, teacher aides, case manager, and office staff--were accessible, friendly, kind to the students, and genuinely concerned with the students' safety, well-being, and ability to learn. Drummond staff were a JOY to work with. It's exactly the type of school I want my own children to attend someday.

This school has tremendous potential. The principal is devoted, the teachers are devoted and many of them have masters! Drummond is a great 'little' school!

Drummond is a great school!
