Chavez Elementary Multicultural Acad Ct Reviews

Chavez could be a great school. It amazes me how the teachers who have the most trying job aren't bothered by the parents or students. However the staff is down right rude! My solution is to get rid of them. Principal get a staff behind you that support your parents and students. If you need help Principal put it out there and I can assure that many of the parents will stand behind you. They (your office staff) are rude and breaks the bridge with your parents. You need this bridge to build relationships with your parents. Or do you care? I starting to wonder if you really care. Because if you don't put that out there too. My kids have 2-4 more years there. I will be glad to help you find a more suitable position.

This was a good school when I attended Chavez. We had great teachers who really cared about the students. However Ive noticed big changes since my child started attending this school. There are not a lot of good teachers there. The principal is ok but I think he needs experience. The staff is the worst. They are very rude and dont pay attention to what they are doing. Another very disturbing thing with this school is that there is often no crossing aids available to help the children get to the other side of the street safely.

For several years pupil's academic skills kept progressing and test scores were rising. Unfortunately the current trend shows that test scores are getting lower each year. During the past three years dozens of wonderful experienced certified teachers have transferred. About three years ago, for some reason, every billingual teacher on the staff left Chavez. Many teachers who replaced them are unskilled in the methods of teaching reading and math. They don't have the required college courses to become regular certified teachers, yet they are allowed to work. Many other outstanding teachers have also recently left the school. The quality of teaching has degressed and so have the pupils test scores. I'm so happy that my child graduated from Chavez while so many outstanding teachers taught there. They helped him learn the skills he needed to succeed in high school.
