Everett F Kerr Middle School Reviews

I'm attending Kerr Middle school right now and I think there awsome the teachers & the principals i think they try to do there best for the our education i have learned alot from there!! my favorite teachers are Mrs.Baker, Mr. Mirecki, Mrs.Buntin, Mrs. Venhizuen, Mr. Canan!!

i believe Kerr Middle is an average school in the fact that they do indeed offer after school programs but they were not always there. When i attended KMS from 2007-2008 we didn't have the programs students now are recieving. I complained to our principal Mr. Gmazel about the lack of technology and other useful things that other middle schools in the district offered. And he got insulted, it was only a thinking booster not an insult. The administration isn't that great. I encountered many teachers that would give grades abd not let the student earn them. I enjoyed my years at Kerr Middle but i would've enjoyed them more with the help of more friendly administration.

The administration, staff and the school are terrific. My daughter happily attends school every day. She enjoys her classes and teachers. She is in the seventh grade gifted class and seems challenged by the teachers and her standardized test scores were outstanding. To me that means she is being taught comparatively the material taught at other districts. The school offers many programs after school theater, choir, bowling, volleyball, basketball, student council, chess club, intramurals are a few I can think of. It takes a village to raise a child so if your child is not succeeding at the school it may not be because of the school. Parents could be more involved with the school & encourage their children to be involved at school. Administration could do better by sending newsletters or information home about what is going on at school. As for the school and programs, thought they are great!

Kerr Middle School is amazing. Motivation? Yes they do give us lots of motivation, I believe the problem is that the students dont like listening becuase they think its retarded, but really if the parents hurt the children in anyway (emotionally or physicly) they the sudents wont care about school. I went to Kerr Middle school and really, they teached me so many things. Mrs.Philapello, Ms.Kikta, Mrs.Ghallager && Mrs.Wajda are amazing teachers! No lie! They teach you so well. I love it. We have lots of clubs, fun activities, help for homework, sports, everything!

My daughter is a student at Kerr and loves it. She participates in the gifted program there and has found it to be challenging and rewarding. My wife and I have found the principal and vice principal to be engaged and constantly looking for new programs and solutions to problems. The teachers we've met seem genuinely interested in the success of our daughter. The school has many clubs, sports teams, a music program and as of this year a theatre program. When I've visited the school it has been clean and orderly and this last year there has been an emphasis on improving the exterior of the building. I'm certain there are opportunities for improvement, but when I tell parents from other communities about our daughter's experience they are generally surprised at how willing the school is to assist us in contrast to their experience at that their children's school.

I am very disappointed in the lack of teacher involvement with the parents. I believe if the school initiated more parent awareness it would allow students to be more successful. I am alarmed with the number of students that are being punished for the poor communication of the teaching staff and their inability to involve the parents. The principal offers no real solutions to problems and no one at this school is accountable. Our children are the only ones to suffer consequences. This schools has no real solution for children that may struggle in problem areas. Eventually they will have tutoring that is supported by the state, but when your child plays games on the computer and is still not getting the help needed-there is a problem. When the school tries to save the children with summer school and only about 39 students pass out of about 103-thats a real problem!

I agree this school lacks things. The people employed at this school dont give much motivation to the students, giving us no reason whatsoever to work hard or even try. Our teachers..well..could be a lot better. And in my opinion are not the people who should be running the school. The principal doesnt fit our school either.

I feel that this school lacks the qualities and tools needed to help a child succeed.

They are awesome!!! It is fun and safe. i love the sports they have.

This school is a wonderful school it has great teachers who care and are all about education the principal is very nice and cival. the work they give students are very challanging which is awesome. they are split in groups of their ability like in high school which is also wonder full because they are preparing for it anyway they have a great source of extracurricular activivties. this is just an awesome school.
