Prairie Junior High School Reviews

I am currently a 7th grader going into 8th grade and i would like to say that every child will not be left out of the fun! everyday we have many funs things to do! I for one was a very shy person coming into prarie...now im an outstanding High Honor A student who talks to every new person...I have made many friends this way. If you have just moved to the Alsip/OakLawn area I engourage you to vist praire. Like Mr. Birminham says 'Make good Choices and Ask Good Questons.' =]

Praire is a wonderful school. They make you feel like you're part of a family. Every day they start it off with an assembly and you really feel like you're a part of something. There are tons of clubs and the classes are really fun.

PJHis a excellent school to go to every day. All of the teachers are nice here, we all get too do really cool projects here. We have lots of things to sing up for at PJH. If you are looking for and nice and safe school come to PJH.

Prairie Junior High is a good school I was in the advanced art class which was a good club we made a mirul that was soooo big the mayor of Alsip came to see it the school is all around good but not easy there gonna challenge you because thats what learning is they prepare you for highschool so go to Prairie for a good education

I love Priarie im graduating this year 2008 and i dont want to graduate my kool school its fun being in it clubs, sports teachers and finally nice administrators.

I am a eighth grader right now and I very much enjoy everything we do at PJH. All of the teachers have this great connection with the students. If I had a choice I would not be leaving this wonderful school but I go knowing that I have had a wonderful experience.

I'm a 7 grade student at prairie J. high.I really like it here.even though I got transferred to it late and didn't have the chance to get involved in any of the clubs, but I still have next year. I really like the students, and the Administration is so caring to everyone.this school will teach you a lot of things.the best of them is 'make good choices, and ask good questions' as what Mr. Birmingham (assistant principal) always say.I really can't believe that next year I will get out of the school, but anyway I would've had a lot of good times.the teachers and administration and students are so nice and respectful. I wish everyone would get to see the school and how good it is.

I am a student here right now and we are always told to join clubs, we are also told we are a family, we have about 60 clubs, its great, we are always given help while needed, the teachers are great! As Mr. B says to us every day, 'make good choices and ask good questions' Eighth grade student class of 07

My daughter graduated from Prairie in 2005. She enjoyed her time there and made great friends and loved the teachers. The teacher's there really work with the kids and welcome feedback from parents. I have only good things to say about Prairie, it really is a good school.

This school was dirty. Most teachers are just here for the money.

I am not a parent, but the grandmother of an eighth grade student who will graduate June 2, 2004. Recently I had the honor of attending, the play 'The Music Man'. It was 'awesome'. I really enjoyed it. A special thanks to the performing arts teacher, you did a fantastic job. You deserve a thousand standing ovation's. My grandson fear's no storm, for he has learned to sail his ship on his own. Thank you again to all Prairie Jr High Teachers and Administrators. -A student's Grandmother

I think that prairie jr. high is a great school. My child has learned so much. He really likes it there also he plays there sports which they are very good at. Prairie has excellant teachers.

I am not a parent, but I am a student. I love Prairie it is the best school. We get to have a lot of fun and thats because our teachers and principal are very cool. If you moved here go to Pairie because it is the best school around. I am enjoying my 7th grade year and I had a lot of fun.

I'm not a parent, but I am a student who goes to the school. I love Prairie Jr. High. It is the best school I have been at. Teachers go above and beyond their teaching skills and help students out. I am an eigth grader now, about to graduate, and I have never been happier. The kids here are great, and I haven't really seen any bullying. Everyone gets a fiar and equal chance in learning. I couldn't even count how many clubs I was in, in 7th grade. Tech Club, Science Club, Love Letters, Academic Bowl, Service Club, the list goes on and on. If you move here, you really have to go to this school, fun feild trips, everything is great. Please come here. I am not a parent, but I am inside the school and my eyes see everything. There band is extremly good.

I'm not a parent here at Prairie, however I am a student. I love this school so much and I am very involved. In my 7th grade year i was in cheerleading, track, peer-mediation, yearbook, and love letters and those are only a couple of clubs. There are so many ways to get involoved at this school. And the teachers are so awesome and cool. The parents are also very involoved with the kids. This school is safe and some segragated. Most students who go here are white but we do have many Hispanics, African-Americans and a few Asians. All in all i love this school and if you are choosing to move to Alsip or Oak Lawn really consider Prairie Junior High School.

My daughter graduated from Prairie Jr. High in June of 2003. I was really impressed at how the teachers go out above & beyond the call of just being teachers, and not only get the students involved with school activities, but really get involved themselves. They made the transition from grade school to jr. high less tramatic for my daughter, by encouraging her participation in some of the many clubs that are available. As far as academically, I know that she had the best education that is possible to have. The teachers are very 'kid friendly', funny, enthusiastic, & very approachable if a student needs help with a subject or just a friend, thus making school an environment that makes kids want to go to school. My daughter looked forward to going to school because the teachers make learning fun, encourage participation in school activities & events, are very approachable, and treat each child as an individual...the then vice principal, currently the new principal is young & actively participates in school events. He is firm but really 'kid friendly'!
