I love that they have 1/2 grades together. The 2nd graders help the 1st and vice versa. I have personally seen the improvement in the reading skills of the class from the beginning. The principal is completely engaged in the learning process, as are all the teachers my sister and I had. Now I am a college student majoring in education, and in looking back at Lane I can see that they were ahead of the game, even back then. The saddest thing about leaving Alsip is leaving Lane School. Anyone moving into Alsip, should make sure they are moving into District 126. She's been above average in everything since starting here. The teachers don't let her get bored but find something more challenging for her to do to keep her interest up.
