St. Josaphat School Reviews

Wonderful school! Great, inclusive community. Academics are fantastic with test scores significantly higher than average. Our children feel safe, comfortable, welcome, and confident at school. Lower elementary has Reading Teacher in addition to classroom teacher. Upper grades utilize middle school model. Upper grade students are buddies to lower grade students, and this has helped our children feel extremely independent and confident at school functions, and outside of school. Fantastic to see our youngsters feel comfortable with children of all ages. It's great that Spanish starts in Preschool and continues through grade 8. Like the Everyday Math curriculum and confident that this approach combined with strong classroom emphasis on language contributes to high test scores, high academic achievement. Organized league play with team sports starts in 4th grade. Fantastic way to learn teamwork as well as get exercise. Gym teacher is Athletic Director. There are mini or bitty ball weekend/after school programs.

The school has changed in the past two years. Honestly, the community is very clicky and the kids are not very welcoming. The teachers are great(most of them), but the interaction with the church and the school is virtually zero. Save your money (expensive) not worth the money or your time

St. Josaphat School continues to be a blossoming jewel in Lincoln Park. The school continues to graduate outstanding students who matriculate to the high school of their choice, including St. Ignatius, Walter Payton, Whitney Young, Northside Prep, Latin School, Lincoln Park International Baccalaureate, Woodlawn Academy, St. Patrick and many others. The entering preschool classes, for ages 3 and 4, are in extremely high demand. The faculty and staff are held in high regard and meet the high expectations of the community. Many teachers hold or are studying for Master's degrees in Education. Academics are rigorous with emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences, including music and art down to the lowest grades. Athletics and after school electives offer a well rounded program for all students. Service to the community, including Little Sisters of the Poor and the Lincoln Park Shelter, are an integral part of the overall education our children receive.

Outstanding community of dedicated faculty, families, and staff make St. Josaphat a warm, nurturing, and academically challenging envirnonment. My 8th grade son was accepted into every Chicago H.S. to which he applied (St. Ignatius, Walter Payton, Whitney Young, Lincoln Park Int'l. Bacc. Program, more), after 7 years at St. Josaphat. Excellent school.

I am a student at St. Josaphat and have been going there since i was very young. I love every moment i have experienced at St. Jospahat. I have been through good times and bad times and these moments have prepared me for the future. I will be going to highschool very soon and am going to miss the friends and wonderful teachers at our school. The people i have met at St Josaphat will always stay close to my heart. If you are looking for a place to send your child, where they can get a good education and meet friends to last a life time, this school is perfect for you.

We have 4 children, all have had a great experience. Son at Walter Payton, daughter at Whitney Young, all kids have great peers. New after school activities and sports programs add alot.

My daughter is in her 5th year at the school. I am so happy with her level of education, the dedication of the teachers, and the administration. The group of parents at this school are amazing. Their involvement and influence is one huge reason this school is as special as it is.

We have been at St. Josaphat for four years and have found a level of committment from the teachers that is hard to find. My children are prospering in this nuturing and challenging environment. I would recommend to anyone.
