Marva Collins Prep School Reviews

The teachers at Marva Collins are wonderful. Unfortunately, the principal of the school lacks leadership skills and the school is not as great as it actually could be. The academics are great , but because of the principal I can no longer recommend this school.

My child attends Marva Collins. The teachers are good. If your child isn't a quick learner they will have problems keep up with the fast pace. Whatever grade level your child is they will be taught 2 to 3 grade levels ahead. You and your child will have a lot of homework each night, weekends, holidays and breaks. The average class has two to three grade levels in one classroom. Yes the tution is pricey.

I am a current student there and the school is okay! I recommend it for anyone who has a 'behind leavel child'. Marva Collins rock! It'll be even better if the school was up to date in everyway(ie.gym, the entire school point blank, and computers)

I think this is the best thing I ever done for my children. My son came to the school below average in subjects within the year everything changed and the light bulb was back on. He was always a bright kid, but was losing interest in school rapidly all that changed at MCPS. The school is a little pricey and you have alot of interaction with the principal/headmistress. But the teachers are tireless. The is very small, so the children do get alot of individual attention. There is no discplinary problems all the children are well behaved and they seemed excited to be there. I would recommend the school it anyone, outside of the tution there is not much dislike about the school.

The children are academically advanced. They learn to read and are introduced to math problems at a very young age. The school is small enough that everyone knows everyone, but the class gardes are combined (i.e. 2,3,4). Their administration lacks customer service. I almost did not send my child because of the poor service and the building is old. Also, there is only one extra-curricular activity.

Enrolling my child in Marva Collins was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My son not only received a quality education but, all the morals and values that I instilled in him were reinforced on a daily basis. The instructional staff are to be commended for their tireless efforts and their dedication to ensuring all children received a quality education. The small class sizes allowed the staff to give each child the personal attention he/she needed in order to excel. I would recommend this school to all parents that want their children to have a quality education. Nonetheless my son Darius graduated with honors and has continued on the road to success, he is currently an Honor Roll student(Senior) at DeLaSalle institute. Marva Collins Preparatory School has definitely laid a strong foundation for my son to be a great success. Ms. Hale
