L H Day School Inc Reviews

The school is great... small class sizes, great after school programs.

I am a former student of L.H.Day School. I attended their pre- school as well as their elementary school. After leaving the Day School I attended a public school for middle school and was more than prepared for the change. I then attended Whitney Young Magnet High School where I was able to play basketball throughout my highschool years and maintain a 3.0 gpa. I am now a junior Iowa State University where I am majoring in finance. I feel that L.H.Day School more than prepared me for the obstacles I've had to face to get where I am now.The close knit setting and the one on one attention that I was able to receive from the teachers was wonderful. The staff is great and are determined to make each student the excel in the classroom.

My child has gone to this school since Kindergarten. The class size is great and the staff for the most part is wonderful. I like the fact that they offer before and after care for us working parents. However the drawbacks are they they dont have a playground for the kids. Children play on a concreted parking lot. Parent involvement is not encouraged or solicited. The school does not have windows in all classrooms. Hot lunches are brought in from fast food restaurants. The children have to go another facility for gym because the school doesnt have a gym room. Lastly, I believe that with the class size being as small as it is in comparison to public schools, the children should be more advanced than they are, but they aren't. Parents who have taken their child to a new school have complained of their kids being behind in certain areas.
