Santa Lucia School Reviews

I am a 1974 graduate of Santa Lucia. My son recently graduated in 2008. Santa Lucia is a great school. The staff is well experienced and care for all the students and brings out the students great potential with their teaching skills. Santa Lucia prepares all their students for High School and their future.

This school is soo cool....They have soo many activities. It's so fun and it gives you education, and it gives you the kind of disipline you need!

Don t pass up this tiny school! For over 40 years Santa Lucia School has provided the children of its Parish and Bridgeport neighborhood with a high quality Catholic education. This small private school offers a comprehensive academic education for children in Pre-K (ages 3 and 4) through Grade 8. Additionally, the teachers and staff nurture and instill the importance of achievement, leadership, social responsibility, values, and the Roman Catholic faith. Recent changes in the neighborhood demographics are now reflected in each classroom with students of various ethnic, religious, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Pastor and Principal of Santa Lucia School have helped to build a solid foundation for the growth of an academically diverse student body that functions together as one family.

Santa Lucia School provides a loving approach to education. The stability of the staff together with the very supportive boards help students become life long learners. The school has won numerous awards and has the latest technoology available. Graduates get into the best high schools in Chicago and many are in the honors program. The cultural diversity of the school is a wonderful asset.

I am highly pleased with the education my three sons received attending Santa Lucia School. Not only where they challenged in academics and sports, the teachers instilled in them a solid rock foundation of integrity and honor. Two of my sons attended St. Ignatius, graduating with High Honors. Another son attended DeLaSalle Institute becoming the valedictorian of his graduating class. They received a well-grounded education and became very productive men instilling educational and religious values with their own families.

I am extremely impressed with Santa Lucia. The quality of the academic programs my child has experienced thus far is terrific. The teachers are outstanding. There are numerous parents extremely committed to the school. Extra-curricular activities are readily available. I would not hesitate recommending the school to friends.

I was not pleased with this school. I am a college student now, and I attended this school in the elementary grades. Only a select few of my class (maybe 4 of us?) went on to college. I have family at the school now, and I found out that not much has changed. This school is in need of major reform. My parents transfered me to a school downtown and that is the best thing they could have done for me.

I transfered my son to this school. I am totally satisfied with the academic success that my son has accomplished this far. He is highly motivated to go to school. He does not want to miss a day. I attribute this to his teacher who challenges his mind and makes learning fun. My son does not participate in extracurricular activities. Parental involvement is high because this school is small and basically close knit.
