Ah, Sweet Home Chicago.

Jazz is huge in Chicago and there are a number of venues where you can hear just as much as your heart desires.

Same goes for the blues, and folk, and rock, too. And you can meet the people who share your passion at The Commons at HelloChicago.com.

Andy's Jazz Club and Restaurant features many local top jazz musicians, with two shows daily. The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge is a Chicago landmark featuring jazz, Dixieland and bebop performers. Close Up 2 features local and national artists in live jazz acts and admission is free is Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Jazz Showcase has two shows each night Monday thru Saturday and a Sunday matinee. Many consider the Velvet Lounge Chicago to be the prime place to hear jazz in Chicago. You can hear rock to jazz at the Empty Bottle in Ukrainian Village.

The Riviera, Park West and The Vic are all run by Jam Productions and book rock acts. Concerts are frequently sold out at the Metro, who draws international, national and local bands. Hideout hosts singers, songwriters and indie bands.

Festivals, especially in the summer, bring additional well-known music acts to the city.
