A set of tools, a sweater or golf clubs make good Father’s Day gifts, but what dad can resist a vintage automobile on his big day?
On June 21, Oakbrook Center will celebrate its 41st annual Father’s Day Classic Car Show, where dads from all over Chicago can share their love of cars with the people they love the most.
Located 30 minutes west of downtown, Oakbrook Center is the largest open-air premier shopping center in the U.S. Six major department stores and more than 160 upscale shops and restaurants are set among beautiful fountains and incredible gardens. It’s a lovely backdrop for this annual event that is expected to attract more than 75,000 visitors.
The car show spans Oakbrook Center’s manicured grounds, and will feature more than 100 classic, antique and vintage automobiles. American cars from the 1900s to the 1960s will be on display, and dads and their families alike will delight in exploring these pieces of history.
Organized by the Greater Illinois Region of the Classic Car Club of America, and sponsored by Continental Motors Group, the annual Father’s Day Classic Car Show is the largest open-air classic car exhibition in the Midwest. There is plenty to see and do, and the whole family can enjoy food and shopping on the grounds following the show thanks to Oakbrook Center’s expansive offerings.
Fathers will have a blast with these past classics, and the whole family can enjoy the tulip gardens, shopping and restaurants at Oakbrook Center. Best of all, admission is free.
