Starved Rock Lodge

The 48-room Lodge was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. With its towering ceilings, multiple fireplaces, stone walls and floors and windows offering sweeping views of the 2,700-acre park, the Starved Rock Lodge is the focal point of this historic state park. If you're looking to day-trip, Starved Rock offers kayaking down the Illinois River, biking, hiking and camping but to name a few of the possibilities.
Known for its rock canyons, wild flowers and wild life, hiking becomes a rich experience. But if you're looking to relax, head to Utica with an empty stomach and a good book because the Lodge's main dining room offers great breakfasts, brunch, lunch and dinners--all at affordable prices whether you're traveling solo or with family. Family Feast is held every Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and offers several entrees served family-style.
A popular Sunday Brunch is served weekly and offers everything from eggs, a carving station, salads, seafood and desserts. Dinners offer everything from fresh seafood to steaks. There's no better time of year to visit Starved Rock than in the autumn. The color change is magnificent and this is when the Lodge's lobby fireplaces roar orange. This is why bringing a good book is suggested: The lobby is appointed with great reading chairs.
