The famed Art Institute of Chicago is the second largest art museum in the nation. Some of the greatest paintings in history can be viewed here. They offer free admission on Thursdays.

Works of art from 1945 until the presence can be seen at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Admission is free on Tuesdays. The Chicago Cultural Center hosts art and photo exhibits and admission here is always free.

The University of Chicago's Oriental Institute has artifacts and statues thousands of years old and a statue of King Tut. Children birth to 8 will enjoy the 17 interactive hands-on exhibits at The Kohl Children's Museum.

Artists from Russia, Poland and the Ukraine have their work on display in the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art. While the National Museum of Mexican Art has 6,000 objects in their permanent collection. Their Day of the Dead exhibition is believed to be largest in the country.
