I bought an Audi at a different dealership. My car has needed numerous repairs and I've taken it to Fletcher Jones out of convenience. I'm wasn't too knowledgable about cars but when I took my car in for a certain issue, they said I also needed to have my brakes, pads and rotars replaced (I know the terms now thanks to them). This cost me a whopping $1735.75. Only later did I find out I could have had these repairs done by an outside service for much less. But oh well, damage down. However, 4 months after purchasing these new items, I kept getting a thumping sound when I braked. My friend said it was most likely a rotar issue. I took it back to them and they said they could find nothing wrong. It got worse so 5 months after installation I took them to a really good outside mechanic. He told me the brakes had rust on them and were also pitted. Fletcher Jones had told me the brake system was covered by warranty for one year or 12,000 miles. So I took the car back in. This time they DID find something wrong even though I knew it the last time I brought the car in. They said it was only due to rust and this was not covered by rotars. They said this was caused because I hadn't 'driven the car for a couple of days' and what happend was 'moisture built up on the pads which caused it to build up on the rotars.' So they wouldn't replace them! And now they want to charge me the $800 or $900 to replace the pads and rotars again. This place is VERY dishonest, they don't care about their customers and they operate like a conveyor belt, tons of cars come in (since it's the only dealership in the city) and tons go out.
